Carlo Attilio Bescapè (born September 2, 1910 in Sant'Angelo Lodigiano , † 1975 in Milan ) was an Italian weightlifter .

Career

Attilio grew up in Padua and started lifting weights there. In 1929 he moved to Pro Patria in 1883 Milan . He belonged to the top of the world for ten years and for almost 20 years to the top Italian featherweight lifters (up to 60 kg body weight). He took part in two Olympic Games and was able to place in the front field each time. His greatest successes were winning the European championship in 1934 and the runner-up world championship in 1938. His best performances were 90 kg in pushing, 95 kg in snatch, 120 kg in push and 300 kg in the Olympic three-way fight. With the exception of the push, all performances were also Italian records. In 1971 Attilio Bescapè was made an honorary member of the Italian Weightlifting Association.
