The four episodes of 50 minutes each are a documentary declaration of love to the legendary road movie Easy Rider from 1969. The filmmakers follow the thematic traces left by the cult film at the end of the 1960s through America and paint a current picture of the USA today.

Episode one deals with the genesis of the film by and with Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda, who also appear as interviewees in all four episodes of the documentary.

The second episode focuses on the environmental movement, the emergence and everyday life of communities in the context of the sexual revolution.

Episode three is dedicated to the topics of drugs, the war on drugs, the renaissance of the psychedelic and the love-hate relationship between hippies and bikers.

Episode four goes to the south of the USA. The genocide of America's natives, the "Obama effect" and background information on the controversial final scenes of the film are thematically at the end of the series. Contributors include: Dennis Hopper , Peter Fonda , Peter Coyote , Kris Kristofferson , Charles Shaar Murray, Lisa Law, Roger McGuinn , Todd Boyd, Sugar Bear, Patri Friedmann, Wavy Gravy , Erin Kaplan, Ben Hardy, Guy Lawson, Ethan Nadelman and Rick Doblin.
