August Ignatz Grosz (born July 17, 1847 in Vienna ; † August 15, 1917 in Vienna-Lainz ) was an Austrian genre and landscape painter and etcher.

Grosz first studied natural sciences at the University of Vienna, then from 1868 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Albert Zimmermann and Eduard Peithner von Lichtenfels painting, where he was also awarded the golden Füger medal .

He went on study trips through Germany as well as to France , Italy and North Africa . After his return he worked as a freelance artist in Vienna.

Since 1872 he exhibited his works with motifs from Upper Bavaria, Rome and Venice at the Vienna exhibition. From 1873 he was a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus .
