August Kleinert

August Kleinert (born August 12, 1895 in Canth , Neumarkt district , province of Silesia , † April 30, 1966 in Misburg ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending elementary school in Canth, Kleinert completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and then worked in the profession he had learned until 1919. From 1916 to 1917 he took part in the First World War as a soldier . He joined the Social Democrats and worked from November 1919 to December 1925 as party secretary for the SPD district of Breslau-Land / Neumarkt.

Kleinert was paid community leader from December 1925 to February 1927 and from March 1927 paid office leader in Klettendorf . From November 29, 1925 to 1929 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of Lower Silesia . In May 1928 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he was a member until 1932. In parliament he represented constituency 7 (Breslau).

After the National Socialists came to power , Kleinert was released on March 8, 1933 as head of the Klettendorf office and briefly imprisoned.

After the Second World War, Kleinert went to West Germany as a displaced person and settled in Misburg, where he again became politically active for the SPD. From December 1945 to July 1946 he was mayor of the Misburg community. Subsequently, he was municipal director until he retired in July 1958.

Honors

The Kleinert street in Misburg-Nord was named in 1975 after him.
