August Kuntzen

August Wilhelm Sigmund Kuntzen (born October 8, 1807 in Westerbrak , † January 29, 1885 in Braunschweig ) was a lawyer, railway director and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Kuntzen attended grammar school in Braunschweig and the university in Göttingen . After studying law , however, he switched to administration and was employed by the tax and finance authorities. After that he was a member of the management of the Braunschweigische Eisenbahnen for 30 years and after the sale of these state railways he retired in 1871. From 1869 he was a member of the state assembly in Braunschweig and from 1875 a member of the state synod and the city council, as well as a member of the church council and provisional for many years.

From 1877 to 1881 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency Braunschweig 2 ( Helmstedt , Wolfenbüttel ) and the National Liberal Party .
