August Schneider (politician, 1879)

August Schneider (born March 20, 1879 - † July 8, 1962 in Hamburg ) was a German politician ( DNVP , CDU ).

Life

Schneider, who was born in the Rhine Palatinate and initially worked in Baden, was a union member of the German National Sales Aid Association . After the First World War he joined the DNVP , for which he was a member of the state parliament of the Republic of Baden from 1921 to 1925 , where he was the social policy spokesman for his parliamentary group.

After the Second World War he came to Hamburg, where he lived in Langenhorn and from around 1960 in Fuhlsbüttel . He was a member of the supervisory board of the DHV, now known as the German Trade and Industry Employees Association. This honored him in April 1959 for long-term membership. He was also a member of the board of his parish and the supervisory board of a building cooperative. Politically, he was now involved in the CDU , where he was chairman of the Langenhorn local association from 1955 to 1960. In addition, he was a member of the Hamburg-Nord district committee from 1957 to 1961 and of the Fuhlsbüttel local committee from 1957 until his death. In the latter he was from 1957 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.
