Karl August Wildenhahn
Karl August Wildenhahn (born February 14, 1805 in Zwickau , † May 14, 1868 in Bautzen ) was a Protestant theologian and religious writer.
Life
Wildenhahn attended grammar school in Zwickau and studied Protestant theology at the University of Leipzig from 1824 . After the state examination, he taught as a teacher in Lichtenstein / Sa. After five years he went to Dresden to Ludwig Tieck to become active as a writer like him. He then switched back to theology and became pastor in Schönefeld in 1837 . In 1840 he changed to the Petrikirche in Bautzen as pastor . There he lived after receiving his doctorate as Dr. theol. until his death as a church and school councilor as well as religious writer. The Erzgebirge village stories , a two-volume anthology (1848 and 1850) , among others, originate from his pen .
