August von Bibra (1818–1878)

August Heinrich Friedrich Wilhelm Freiherr von Bibra (to distinguish it from his father of the same name, the name is often supplemented with d. J. (the younger)) (* February 25, 1818 in Weilburg ; † April 26, 1878 in Wiesbaden ) was a Nassau chief forester and Member of the state parliament.

Life

August von Bibra attended grammar school in Weilburg from 1834 to 1838 and then studied forestry . From 1840 to 1842 he was a forestry advisor at the Cleeberg Forest District and in 1841 was appointed Jagdjunker. From 1842 to 1847 he was chief forestry officer in Idstein , from 1847 to 1852 provisional forest manager of the Merenberg forestry department and from 1852 to 1858 chief forester in Kirberg . In 1853 he was appointed forester and in 1857 chamberlain . In 1858 he was appointed chief forest officer in Weilburg and in 1864 chief forest master. In 1866 he was given the rank of government councilor in Prussian services and from 1868 to 1878 he was a forest inspector in the Wiesbaden-Weilburg Forest Inspectorate.

From 1860 to 1861 he was a representative of Prince zu Wied in the first chamber of the estates of the Duchy of Nassau .

August von Bibra, who was a Protestant denomination, was the son of the chief hunter and member of the state parliament August von Bibra (1775–1844) and his second wife Amalie Caroline Luise Henriette nee Freiin Löw von und zu Steinfurth (born May 16, 1794 in Weilburg; † 30 September 1854 in Kirberg), the daughter of the Oberzeugmeister, Oberjägermeister and Councilor of State Friedrich Philipp Freiherr Löw von und zu Steinfurth and his wife Dorothea Wilhelmine née Rabe von Canstein.

August von Bibra married on December 18, 1842 in Hadamar Julie Maria, born Freiin Erath auf Waldmannshausen (born December 9, 1822 in Waldmannshausen ; † January 12, 1875), the daughter of Justus Heinrich Weynand Freiherr von Erath and his wife Marie.
