Augustin Lusser was born on January 17, 1896 in Baar as the son of the building contractor Franz Vital Lusser . After graduating from school in Zug, Lusser studied law and economics at the universities of Bern and Freiburg , which he completed in 1921 with the academic degree of Dr. rer. pole. finished. As a result, he set up an administrative office in Zug in 1925.

August Lusser, brother of the chief civil servant Florian , was married to Madeleine nee Schmit, born in Thionville , a cousin of the European politician Robert Schuman . He died on November 25, 1973, a few months before he was 78 years old in Zug.

Political career

As a member of the Christian Democratic People's Party, Augustin Lusser was a member of the Zug city ​​council from 1931 to 1962 , of which he was city ​​president from 1939 . At the same time, he sat at the cantonal level from 1931 to 1966 in the Zug Cantonal Council , which he chaired between 1939 and 1940. In addition, he was a member of the Council of States for the canton from 1941 to 1970 , which he also chaired between December 1, 1958 and December 7, 1959. There Lusser acted as head of the Catholic-Conservative parliamentary group. In addition, he was a member of the parliamentary delegation to the Council of Europe from 1963 to 1970 , including from 1965 as head of the Swiss delegation.
