The Aurdalen ( Norwegian for scree valley ) is a small valley with moraine scree in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It lies between the Gråkammen and the Aurdalsegga in the Petermann range of the Wohlthatmassiv .
The valley was discovered and mapped during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . A new mapping based on aerial photographs and measurements as well as the descriptive naming were carried out during the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
