Austin Berry (born April 5, 1971 in San José ) is a former Costa Rican soccer player .

Career

Berry played for LD Alajuelense in Costa Rica until the end of 1992 , from there he moved to Germany in the 2nd Bundesliga for SC Freiburg . He came to the Freiburg team for the first time on March 10, 1993, when he played against FC Carl Zeiss Jena and crowned his debut with a goal in the first minute of the game. At the end of the 1992/93 season Berry was with Freiburg, five points ahead of MSV Duisburg in first place. The championship and the associated promotion to the Bundesliga were celebrated. In the next season Berry came on a mission, he played on matchday 20 in the 4-1 win against Borussia Dortmund . He was after Juan Cayasso , the second Bundesliga player from Costa Rica. After the season he returned to the LD Alajuelense. In 1996 he was tested positive for phenmetrazine in a doping control and was banned for two months. This was followed by positions at Antigua GFC and CS Herediano from 1999 , where he ended his career in 2006.
