Austin Manuel Hooper (* 4. November 1994 in San Ramon , California ) is an American American football poker players on the position of tight ends . He currently plays for the Cleveland Browns in the National Football League (NFL). From 2016 to 2019 he was under contract with the Atlanta Falcons .

Early years

Hooper went to high school in Concord , California . From 2013 he went to Stanford University . In 2014, he completed all 13 games for the college football team .

NFL

Atlanta Falcons

Hooper was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in 81st place in the third round of the NFL Draft . In the preseason he could not catch two passes in the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars , which were then intercepted . On Matchday 4 of his rookie season, he scored his first touchdown in the NFL after a 42- yard pass from Matt Ryan in a 48:33 win over the Carolina Panthers . On the 15th matchday of the 2016 season, Hooper injured himself in the game against the San Francisco 49ers and was therefore out for the rest of the season. The Falcons reached the Super Bowl LI , which was lost 28:34. Hooper caught a touchdown pass from Matt Ryan .

Cleveland Browns

After his contract in Atlanta expired, the Cleveland Browns signed Hooper in March 2020. With the Browns, he agreed on a four-year deal worth $ 42 million, making Hooper the league's highest-paid tight end.
