Austin McKenzie (born March 16, 1993 in Clayton ) is an Australian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Melbourne Ice in the Australian Ice Hockey League since 2011 .

Career

Austin McKenzie began his career as a hockey player with the lower class Melbourne Jets. In 2009 he went to the Ontario Hockey Academy for two years , for whose teams he played in lower-class Canadian youth leagues. In 2011 he returned to Australia, where he has since been under contract with Melbourne Ice in the Australian Ice Hockey League . With his team he won the Goodall Cup , the Australian Championship in 2011, 2012 and 2017 and in 2011, as the winner of the main round of the AIHL, the H. Newman Reid Trophy . In 2013 and 2014 he also played for junior teams from Melbourne in the Australian Junior Ice Hockey League .

International

For Australia , McKenzie took part in the junior division of the U18 World Championships in 2009 and 2011 in Division III and 2010 in Division II and the U20 World Championships in 2012 and 2013 .

In the men's field, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division II in 2014 , 2015 and 2016 .
