The Austro-Daimler ADM II is a passenger car of the middle class , which the automobile company Austro-Daimler as a complement to the large model 6-17 AD 1923 2.5 liters brought out displacement. Like this one, it was designed by Ferdinand Porsche . The engine had a light metal block and a camshaft driven by a vertical shaft.
The car had a 6-cylinder in-line engine installed at the front, which drove the rear wheels via a 4-speed gearbox. Front wheels were attached to a rigid axle and had longitudinal leaf springs. The rear wheels were also attached to a rigid axle supported by cantilever semi-springs on the chassis. In contrast to the AD 6-17 and ADV models , the car was equipped with a flat cooler. All four wheels were braked on this model.
As early as 1924, the 10/45 PS model replaced the previous 10/40 PS model with a slightly enlarged engine . It was manufactured until 1927.
In 1926 a sports car with a displacement of 3 liters appeared, the Austro-Daimler ADM 3 liters . A 2- and a 4-seater version were available by 1928.
In 6 years, a total of approx. 500 copies of all ADM versions were produced. The successors from 1927 were the ADR and ADR Sport models .
