The AutobahnExpress Schnelllinienbus GmbH was a private Fernbusunternehmen based in Potsdam . The company was founded in 2008 as OmniSystems Linienverkehr International GmbH by Constantin Pitzen (* 1970). Pitzen was also the company's managing director.
Autobahnexpress offered long-distance bus services on three routes:
- Line A 9 : Potsdam - Coswig (Anhalt) - Leipzig / Halle Airport - Leipzig Messe (from November 30, 2009)
- Line A 14 : Dresden Airport - Dresden Central Station - Leipzig Messe - Leipzig / Halle Airport (from September 30, 2009)
- Line A 38 : Göttingen / Kassel - Sangerhausen - Schraplau-Schafsee - Halle (Saale) - Leipzig / Halle Airport (from November 16, 2009); From Schafsee the feeder line A 38 d runs to Leipzig Goethestrasse ( main station )
There was a central transfer point between the three lines with guaranteed connections at Leipzig / Halle Airport.
All lines were licensed according to § 42 of the PBefG . Initially, there were four working pairs of journeys on all lines every 4 hours, and three pairs of journeys on Sundays. They were connected to each other at Leipzig / Halle Airport. From July 2010, the company reduced the offer several times for economic reasons. Most recently, a pair of trips ran on the three lines on Fridays and Sundays. The tickets were sold by the drivers and distributed both online and through travel agencies and agencies.
On February 24, 2012, the company announced that it would cease operations at the end of the month. The occupancy rate was too low to cover costs. As a result of the insolvency proceedings opened on March 7, 2012 , the company was dissolved.
