Avalon (micronation)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Avalon is a micronation in Müllheim in the Swiss canton of Thurgau .

idea

The pseudo-state Avalon was proclaimed in 2006 by the Swiss entrepreneur Daniel Model . On the occasion of an invitation from the canton's municipal mayors, Model was supposed to give a lecture on the subject of the “relationship between state and companies”. During the preparation of the speech, the decision to found a state matured because the real state had developed a “culture of mistrust”, while according to Model, trust is the basis of all economic activity. The the became known SVP - Councilor Jakob Stark -looking statement: "She and I, we do not live longer in the same state!"

Model founded the state of Avalon on a ship in the supposedly extra-state waters of Lake Constance .

Model represents ideas of libertarianism and is, according to Weltwoche, "one of the most subversive personalities in Switzerland". In Switzerland, according to Daniel Model, the originally liberal state structure has been increasingly transformed from bottom to top into a hierarchical structure. In addition, the welfare state transforms its citizens into dependents.

Surname

The name was taken from the Arthurian legend and interpreted by Model as "apple orchard" or "apple island", which goes with the canton of Thurgau, known in Switzerland as Most India . The founder's daughter read the book The Mists of Avalon while the model farm was being built .

Location and activities

In 2012, the Modelhof in Müllheim was completed as an imaginary seat of government.

The Modelhof is a sacred building. It serves as a venue for lectures such as "Illegitimacy and alternatives to the state monopoly of power and law". The German Reich Citizens Movement also denies the existence of a legitimate constitutional state .

In addition to the event hall with a stage, the infrastructure includes a library, a ballroom, training rooms and overnight accommodation for guests.

The Modelhof is the seat of the so-called International Common Law Court of Justice Vienna (ICCJV), where Model claims to be a judge of the peace . The fictitious court appeared for the first time in the summer of 2014, when “arrest warrants” were issued against the entire Austrian federal government. On February 17, 2016, the ICCJV reported the Republic of Austria to the International Court of Justice in The Hague for crimes against humanity. An Austrian blogger who was also reported and reported on the fictitious court is accused by Model of being guilty of defamation, hatred and character assassination through his reporting. Model was then reported for coercion.

Avalon coins were minted from several tons of silver , as a collapse of the currency system could not be ruled out. With the establishment of the state of Avalon and its activities, state authorities are to be challenged and the "ridiculousness" of the modern welfare state idea and the comfortable political consensus based on liberalism are questioned.
