Average
Average (* October 1988 in Linz ; real name Markus Ebner ) is an Austrian hip-hop musician.
Life
In 2006 Average released his first demo tape "Expression" together with DJ Url under the pseudonym "Die AU". He was supported by Huckey ( Texta ), Kamp and Wenzel Washington.
In 2007 the MC was featured for the first time as a feature guest on a Texta album. With the song “Jugend ohne Kopf” from the album “Paroli”, a close collaboration with the five-man hip-hop group emerged.
In 2009 he released the first EP "Ganz schön uglich" together with Texta member Huckey. He was featured here by Texta member Flip, among others.
In 2011 the first solo EP “aufeinwort” was released. Average and DJ Url were also voted Fm4 Soundpark Band of the Year this year. In the same year, Flip from Texta and Average started the “Tuesday Classics” series, in which American hip-hop classics were translated into German.
In 2013 the mixtape “Die Au does not strike back” and “Tuesday Classics II” appeared.
Average has established itself in the Austrian hip-hop scene, not least because of its collaboration with other MCs such as Texta , Soprano , Kamp , Sketchzo, Penetrante Sorte, Hinterland, Kayo, Demolux, 3M MinutenEi, Roger von Blumentopf or Aphroe. Average accompanied the French MC Soprano in the opening act in 2010 on his tour through Austria, Germany and Switzerland. He also played solo and together with other MCs in Luxembourg and France, as well as supporting Dilated Peoples , Delinquent Habits, Samy Deluxe , Cassandra Steen, Afrob , Cro , Masta Ace , Mac Miller and Blumentopf . Since 2006 Average has played more than 200 concerts in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France and Luxembourg.
In 2011 the song “Grotesk” from the album “Grotesk” by Texta was released. In 2012, the song "Wenns ein Mädchen wird" - a hymn of praise for the game series " FIFA " - was published by EA Sports in 2013 and invited to the premiere in Munich.
The MC has also been working with Red Bull since 2012 . The first song "Bubble Bubble" was produced in the course of the wakeboard event "Wake of Steel", which takes place in Linz harbor. In 2013 Average wrote the song for the Red Bull Playstreets in Bad Gastein and again for the “Wake of Steel” in Linz.
The MC's texts are predominantly in Standard German and are characterized by a high degree of playfulness.
