Axel Bernd Kunze

Axel Bernd Kunze (born April 1, 1972 in Peine ) is a German educational scientist and Catholic social ethicist .

Life

Axel Bernd Kunze studied Catholic theology and education at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster from 1992 to 2000 . From 2000 to 2003 Kunze was a doctoral scholarship holder from the Swiss Professor Franz Furger Memorial Foundation. This was followed by a traineeship for the teaching position for the upper secondary level, which he completed from 2004 to 2006 at the study seminar for teaching positions at schools in the Westphalian town of Rheine .

Kunze received his doctorate in Christian social ethics with a thesis on the ethics of responsibility of political parties in 2005 from the former faculty of Catholic theology at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg . From 2006 to 2009 Kunze worked at the same faculty as a research assistant in the DFG project "The human right to education : anthropological-ethical foundations and criteria for political implementation" under the direction of Marianne Heimbach-Steins . The aim of the project was to establish an independent educational discourse within Christian social ethics ; the results of the project are published in the series “Forum Bildungsethik”, of which Kunze is co-editor. During this time, a habilitation thesis was created under the title “The human right to education - an educational, ethical and socio-ethical foundation”. The habilitation in educational science took place on January 19, 2011 at the Philosophical Faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . From April 2009 to August 2011 Kunze was a substitute professor for school pedagogy with a focus on education at the University of Trier . Kunze is currently working as a private lecturer at the University of Bonn and as a lecturer for pedagogy and deputy headmaster (from October 2012 to July 2013 as acting headmaster), since August 2016 as headmaster at the Evangelical College for Social Pedagogy in Weinstadt . In addition, he holds lectureships for general pedagogy at the Ludwigsburg University of Education , for didactics and methodology at technical schools at the Evangelical University of Freiburg , for ethics in social work at the Heilbronn study center and at the Mannheim study center of the DIPLOMA University and for social work at the Catholic Foundation University in Munich (since October 2017: Catholic Foundation University Munich).

Kunze is deputy chairman of the Social Ethics Network, a member of the editorial board of the school education magazine Engagement , the scientific advisory board of the German Association of Philologists , the scientific advisory board of the Association of Pedagogy Teachers, the International Advisory Board of the Center for European Studies and International Relations at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj / Romania, on the advisory board of the Society for Education and Knowledge, on the regional advisory board of the Federal Association of Protestant Training Centers for Social Pedagogy and founding member of the Willy Aron Society in Bamberg. He is also a member of the Trimberg Research Academy at the University of Bamberg. He was active in the ad-hoc working group "Inclusion of people with disabilities in education" of the Central Committee of German Catholics, in the project committee Paths from the Economization of the Second Ecumenical Church Congress 2010 in Munich and in the editorial group of the Forum Social Ethics - Initiative of Young Social Ethics Social ethicist.

Kunze runs the science blog "Bildungsethik" with articles and news on a social ethics of education and is a regular columnist for the social ethics column in the Catholic weekly newspaper "Die Tagespost", which appears in cooperation with the Catholic Social Science Central Office. He is a member of the Leipzig fraternity Alemannia zu Bamberg , the fraternity Rheno-Germania zu Bonn and the fraternity Alemannia Leipzig.
