Axel Kählert
Axel Kählert (born December 23, 1950 in Oschatz ) is a former German handball player .
The backcourt player played for SC DHfK Leipzig until 1976 . He then worked for SG Dynamo Halle-Neustadt until 1984 .
Kählert was in the squad of the handball national team of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), at the men's world championship in 1974 he was runner- up with the team of the German handball federation of the GDR .
From 1978 to 1989 Kählert was a full-time employee of the Halle district administration of the Ministry for State Security (MfS) of the GDR, most recently as captain , and received three medals of merit for his work.
He was the head of the club “H-Alle für Olympia”, which was part of the German Olympic application for the 2012 Summer Games in Halle (Saale) ; In April 2004, he resigned from this post after it became known that he was working for the MfS. In Halle (Saale) he runs a beverage trade and a lottery shop.
