Ayako Jinnouchi ( Japanese 陣 内 綾 子 , Jinnouchi Ayako; born January 21, 1987 in Matsue ) is a Japanese middle-distance runner.

Athletic career

Ayako Jinnouchi first appeared internationally at the 2005 Asian Championships in Incheon, South Korea . There she won the bronze medal over 800 meters, as well as at the East Asian Games in Macau . In 2006 she took part in the Junior World Championships in Beijing and was eliminated there over 800 meters in the semifinals. In 2007 she won the bronze medal over 800 meters at the Asian Championships in Amman . At the World Championships in Kobe , she was eliminated over this distance in advance. In 2008 she took fourth place over 800 meters at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha , as well as at the 2009 Asian Championships in Guangzhou . In 2013 she won the bronze medal over 1500 meters at the Asian Championships . Four years later she achieved the same success at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar . In 2019 she reached tenth place at the Asian Championships in Doha in 4: 24.17 minutes.

In 2007 and 2009, Jinnouchi became the Japanese champion in the 800-meter run and in 2012, 2013 and 2017 in the 1500 meters.
