Steel Azin ( Persian باشگاه فوتبال استيل آذین) is an Iranian football club from the capital Tehran .
The club is owned by Hossein Hedayati, the owner of Steel Azin Co. The Steel Azin Club also has a volleyball team .
history
On April 30, 2007, Hossein Hedayati bought Ekabatan Football Club for US $ 750,000 and renamed it Steel Azin Football Club.
2010/11 season
Steel Azin started the season with a shopping spree. Siavash Akbarpour , Jasha , Mohsen Khalili , Mehrzad Madanchi , Hossein Kazemi , Milad Zanidpour and Hassan Ashjari , all former or current national players, were signed. The club had spent even more money than they had with Ali Karimi , Mehdi Mahdavikia , Ferydoon Zandi , Hossein Kaebi , Amir Shapourzadeh , Hamed Kavianpour and Alireza Vahedi Nikbakht the previous year. The club has signed a total of 13 former or current national players in just two years. Karimi and Mahdavikia both have more than 100 caps and come in second and third behind Ali Daei in most caps for Iran.
Nevertheless, the club did not achieve the success they had hoped for and even rose from bottom of the table.
