The Bächlitalhütte is a mountain hut in the Am Albis section of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC), in the canton of Bern ( Switzerland ). It is located in the Bächlital on the Grimsel Pass route above the Räterichsbodensee at 2328  m , in a panoramic position, surrounded by the Alplistock, the large and small Diamantstock and near the Bächli Glacier.

history

The Bächlitalhütte was built in 1964 according to plans by Jakob Eschenmoser in a polygonal construction. A first renovation took place in 1980 and in 2000 an extension with timber construction. It is located on a rock pedestal around 150 meters above the alluvial landscape of the Bächliboden.

The hut is a destination for day visitors and families and a good starting point for alpine high and climbing tours as well as alpine training (high alpine tours, glacier tours, sport climbing).

Approach

From “Guttannen Räterichsboden” (post bus stop) and the car park (directly on the Grimselpassstrasse), stairways lead in a westerly direction to point 2157  m and further down the Bächlital to the hut. The trail can also be used by children. The hiking time is 2 to 2.5 hours (level of difficulty T2, distance four kilometers, difference in altitude around 700 meters). Since 2014 there has been a lichen path along the approach to the hut, which introduces information boards into the world of lichen.

Maintenance

  • Summer: mid-June to mid-October
  • Winter: mid-March to mid-May (when groups book in advance and over the spring holidays if the conditions are good). Reservation online or by e-mail
