Béla Ernyey
Béla Ernyey (born June 10, 1942 in Budapest ; in German-speaking countries also known as Béla Erny ) is a Hungarian actor and singer with an Austrian passport.
Life
After graduating from high school, Ernyey was educated at the University of Theater and Film Arts in Budapest. He then played classical and modern roles and musicals at the Budapest VIG Theater for nine years . At the age of 24 he played the title role in the 13-part television series Princ, a katona ( Prince, the Soldier ) for MTV Hungary (1966-67), with which he became known to a wide audience in Hungary overnight. From 1973 to 1976 he worked at the Theater an der Wien and from 1978 to 1990 at the Gärtnerplatztheaterin Munich. In addition, Ernyey has appeared in numerous television series, films and shows in Hungary, Austria and Germany. In 1986 he played the leading role in the internationally produced TV film The Beau ( Az aranyifjú ) and was also a co-producer for the first time. In 1989 he published his first book, the autobiography Dreams Are Dangerous , which was published in both Hungary and Germany. A few more books followed - including three novels and a cookbook - all of which were published by Hungarian publishers. Ernyey has been working more and more in Hungary since 2005, where he can be seen in reality and cooking programs, but also as an actor for RTL Klub and TV2. He has been in contact with the state-owned MTV Hungary since 1965, including producing the talk show Damenwahl (2002-2005), which he hosted himself.
Ernyey was in a relationship with the actress and singer Heidi Brühl . He is currently dating the Hungarian lawyer Dóra Balaton, whom he has also married.
Awards (selection)
In 1976 Ernyey was awarded the star of the year , a German prize for the best musical actor. In addition, he received the “Most Popular Young Actor” award in Hungary, the audience award The Ideal Man, and in 1996 the Hungarian Golden Butterfly Award for his life's work in film. In 2015 Ernyey was made a full honorary member of the European Cultural Workshop .
