It has its source in the Cevennes National Park , on the Col de la Caumette , in the municipality of Meyrueis . The river generally drains in a north-westerly direction and flows into the Jonte as a left tributary after 12 kilometers in the local area of Meyrueis . The mostly calm river can suddenly carry very large amounts of water after precipitation.
