The Bohemian Prater is a small amusement park (approx. 5000 m²) on the outskirts of Vienna , which is a popular destination for families, especially with the adjacent Laaer Berg recreation area . In the Bohemian Prater there are several rides that are up to 100 years old. The name is derived from the large Vienna Prater .

The Bohemian Prater is located on the Laaer Berg on the edge of the Laaer Wald in Vienna's 10th district of Favoriten . The rides and restaurants are located along a pedestrian zone . The Tivoli event center forms the center of the Bohemian Prater.

The amusement park was created in the second half of the 19th century. At that time the first excursion inn on the Laaer Berg was built from the original canteen of the Wiener Ziegelwerke . In 1883 numerous families of showmen had already settled in the Bohemian Prater. Like the workers in the brick factory, these came mainly from the Austrian crown lands of Bohemia and Moravia and were thus eponymous for this new Viennese attraction. In the years that followed, the amusement park grew steadily. During the Second World War , on December 11, 1944, the Bohemian Prater was almost completely destroyed by a bomb attack. After reconstruction in the post-war years, it finally got its current appearance.

As in the large Prater, there is also a Ferris wheel in the Bohemian Prater . It was built in 1988, but has a diameter of only 21 meters, has 14 gondolas and is operated by the Reinhardt fairground operator. A special feature of this Ferris wheel is that its hub rests on a single support structure.

On May 1, 2010, Die Grünen Wien set up a shuttle bus from Reumannplatz . This ran on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays until September 2010. In 2011, the local entrepreneurs set up a shuttle bus between Reumannplatz and Simmeringer Platz .
