Børge Lund (born March 13, 1979 in Bodø , Norway ) is a Norwegian handball coach and a former handball player of u. a. played for the THW Kiel.
Career
From 2006 Lund played in the German handball Bundesliga at HSG Nordhorn ; After only one season at HSG, he moved to THW Kiel in the summer of 2007 for around € 200,000 . He won the EHF Champions League with THW and was German champion three times . Since Lund wanted more play on the offensive than at THW, he switched to the Rhein-Neckar Löwen in summer 2010 , where he played until 2012. He then signed a contract with Füchsen Berlin . After the end of the 2012/13 season Lund moved back to Norway to Bodø HK, where he works as a player- coach. In 2015 he won the cup with Bodø HK.
During the 2017 World Cup , he worked as an assistant coach for the Norwegian national team. Since the 2020/21 season he has coached the Norwegian first division club Elverum Håndball .
He had 216 appearances in the Norwegian national team and scored 390 goals. He made his debut for the national team on March 9, 2000 at the home game against Portugal (21:20). The playing position of the right-hander is center back . Until his resignation from the national team in October 2014, he wore the shirt number 9.
Lund has a body length of 1.96 m and 94 kg body weight. Before moving to Nordhorn, he was also in negotiations with HSV Hamburg .
