Stage blood - "Live in Leipzig" Snake sun

Stage blood - "Live in Leipzig" is the first live album by the Thuringian dark metal band Eisregen . It was released by Massacre Records in late April 2009 . The album was already announced on the bone cult album, where there was a reference to this concert and a live recording of it that could be purchased in 2009. At that time, however, the title of the planned publication was Colony Leipzig .

According to the band, around 1400 visitors attended the two-day concert, including some from Austria and Switzerland .

content

The material published on the album consists of recordings that were made on November 28th and 29th, 2008 in the Leipzig metal club Hellraiser. The occasion of the concert was the tenth anniversary of the second album Krebskolonie , which hit stores on November 28, 1998.

The first CD contains the songs that were played on the first day. Songs from the albums Knochenkult , Blutbahnen and Leichenlager were played , as well as from the Hexenhaus EP. However, half of the songs are from Bone Cult , as this was the band's most recent release. Songs from the two indexed albums Farbenfinsternis and Wundwasser were also played at the concert , but these were not included in the live album, as this would have meant that the work would only be available in stores on request. In the booklet of the book this is jokingly referred to as “punishment for the Boyz 'n Girlz who preferred to stay at home”. As mentioned at the concerts of Knochenkult -Tournee, not a single song was found in the live set from the first album decay .

The second CD is the songs from the second day. The second album Krebskolonie , which is prohibited from distribution, was performed in full, but slightly modified in terms of text and music, so that it is recognized by GEMA as a separate work and does not fall victim to the distribution ban because of the same content . However, the textual differences are extremely small and the texts are “no less bloody” than the originals. In the case of Endschlacht (the modified version of the eve of the battle ), instead of “It's cold out here by the oaks”, it now says “It's cool out here by the beeches”, and the same procedure was followed for the other titles. The only exception is Thuringia 2008 , which roughly corresponds to the new recording Thuringia 2005 published on Hexenhaus and only contains two modified words.

The album was released in a jewel case as well as a digipak , also as a record version , the latter two are limited in number. The work is accompanied by a 16-page booklet in three colors, which, in addition to a two-page greeting from the band, includes pictures of the individual members, the texts were not printed. As already on Bone Cult , there is also a sticker with the note that the content of the text is fictional. The front image of the publication shows the darkened image of a skeleton hanging in a crucifixion pose .

reception

According to the gypsy boy from Schwarze-News , “everything the fan wants to hear can be found on the album”. He described the fact that the live album contains all the songs from the Krebskolonie album as a “special treat” and “[t] the real highlight of the Leipzig live performance”, but there was “really nothing to complain about about the second disc [...] ". Michael LEMPO Decker from metalcon described it as a "hammer live album, not least because of the 2nd CD, which now makes it possible to get into the possession of the cancer colony, even if it is somehow not the same".
