Bănel Nicoliță (born January 7, 1985 in Făurei , Brăila County ) is a Romanian football player .

Career

Nicoliță began his career in 2001 in the Romanian Divizia B at Dacia Unirea Brăila . In the summer of 2004 he moved to the first division club FCU Politehnica Timișoara . Since the winter break of the 2004/05 season he has been under contract with the Romanian club Steaua Bucharest , with whom he immediately became Romanian champions twice in a row. Nicoliță has both feet and plays in right attacking midfield with the shirt number 16. He has made thirteen appearances in the UEFA Cup . In 2011 he won the Romanian Cup with Steaua . On September 7, 2011, he moved to Ligue 1 to AS Saint-Étienne . In the 2013/14 season he was loaned to FC Nantes . After his contract ended in the summer of 2014, he was without a club for six months before FC Viitorul Constan hola brought him back to League 1. In Constanța he immediately became a regular. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season , he mostly sat on the bench and came on as a substitute. That changed in November 2015 when he was regularly on the starting grid again.

In April 2016 Nicoliță dissolved his contract in Constanța. In the summer of 2016 he couldn't find a new club and played for CS Făurei in his hometown for half a year. At the beginning of 2017, first division club ASA Târgu Mureş signed him . In the summer of 2017 he moved to Aris Limassol in Cyprus before returning to Făurei in early 2018.

National team

Nicoliță has been the Romanian national player since 2005 with 31 appearances and one goal. With Romania he took part in the 2008 European Football Championship .
