The kkStB 51 series of steam locomotives was a series of freight trains with a tender from the kkStB , which originally came from the KFNB .

The KFNB put a total of 120 of this series of locomotives into service. They were supplied by the StEG Lokomotivfabrik , Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik and Lokomotivfabrik Floridsdorf from 1871 to 1889 and differed in details due to this long delivery period. The data in the table are therefore only typical values for the last deliveries. The tenders used also varied.

The KFNB gave them the series designation Vd and the numbers 391-510 . In addition, all of the machines were given names ranging alphabetically from "ALTENMARKT" to "ZATOR".

All machines came to the kkStB and formed the 51 series there .

After the First World War , some of the series 51 came to the CFR , to the PKP as series Th 16 to ČSD as series 312.1 and 313.0 and to the BBÖ . The PKP decommissioned the locomotives until 1925, the BBÖ until 1932 . The ČSD operated these machines until 1963.

The series designation 51 was already occupied by the kkStB. The 51.01–03 was redrawn in 1892 as 50 .26–28, the 51.04–12 at the same time as 54 .41–49.
