The BDWM Transport AG (short BDWM was) a medium-sized transport company in the Swiss canton of Aargau , based in Bremgarten . The company was created in 2000 from the merger of the Bremgarten-Dietikon-Bahn with the Wohlen-Meisterschwanden-Bahn . It operated the narrow-gauge railway between Wohlen and Dietikon and several bus routes. On June 19, 2018, the BDWM merged with the Wynental and Suhrentalbahn to form Aargau Verkehr AG (AVA). BDWM, however, is retained as a product name .
BD had been the operating company of the World Cup, which opened in 1916, since 1920. Since the closure of the standard-gauge line between Wohlen and Meisterschwanden in 1997, the BD has been operating the bus route between these two places.
In 2002 the BDWM won the tender for a network of six bus routes in the densely populated Limmat Valley between Zurich and Spreitenbach . On January 1, 2003, the specially founded subsidiary Limmat Bus AG started operations.
In the same year, the BDWM was also awarded the contract for nine bus routes in the Wiggertal region around Zofingen . The transfer to the new subsidiary SBB-Bus Zofingen / Reiden should actually have taken place with the timetable change on December 12, 2004. But the previous concession holder PostBus Aargau delayed the change of operator by two years with a complaint against the award decision.
The tariff structure of the lines in Aargau is integrated into the tariff association A-Welle . The lines of the subsidiary Limmat Bus belong to the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund .
From December 2009 the previous railcars were continuously replaced by new ABe 4/8 "Diamant" vehicles , built by Stadler Rail in Bussnang.
