BNUB was the continuation of the Integrated Office of the United Nations in Burundi ( French: Bureau Intégré des Nations Unies au Burundi , BINUB ), a mission of the United Nations (UN) to strengthen the national capacities of the Burundian government to deal with the consequences of the Burundian civil war to overcome. This, in turn, took place directly after the United Nations mission in Burundi (ONUB). BNUB was originally limited to December 31, 2011, but was extended several times and continued until December 31, 2014; it will be continued by UNDAF .

The task of the BNUB was that

  • Support for the development of national institutions;
  • Promoting dialogue;
  • Combating Impunity Areas
  • Promotion of human rights;
  • Ensure that economic and financial policies take into account the needs of people at risk and promote the mobilization of Burundi's resources;
  • Support with regional integration.
