The type TF 26 tram cars and the associated type B 26 trailer cars were a series of 14 vehicles that were put into service in 1926 on the flat line of the Berliner Hochbahngesellschaft .

In 1926, the Hochbahngesellschaft ordered five railcars and nine sidecars from Christoph & Unmack in Niesky as the successor to their carriages put into service in 1901 for use on the tram line between Warschauer Brücke underground station and Wagnerplatz . The structure of the railcars was similar to the 1924 type purchased two years earlier from the Berliner Straßenbahn-Betriebs-Gesellschaft (BSBG), but differed from it in terms of the existing chassis and the platforms with sliding doors . They were given the car numbers 13 to 17. The trailer cars were of the 1925 design , but like the railcars had one-piece sliding doors. The car numbers ran from 30 to 38.

With the merger of Hochbahngesellschaft with BSBG and ABOAG to form Berliner Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft (BVG), the cars were given the new numbers 4361 to 4365 (railcars) and 1231 II to 1239 II (sidecars).

In 1939 the three sidecars 1236 II , 1238 II and 1239 II were converted for operation on line 120 between Spandau-West station and Hennigsdorf station . Since the line between Johannesstift and Nieder Neuendorf ran on the tracks of the Bötzowbahn , they received wider wheel tires and additional signaling devices. Car 1236 II was lost during this period of use in World War II .

With the administrative separation of the BVG on August 1, 1949, all five railcars remained in East Berlin , as did the sidecars 1231 II to 1235 II and 1237 II . The line boxes of the railcars were adapted to those of the T 24 type in 1950. The two sidecars 1238 II and 1239 II remained in West Berlin . While car 1239 was retired and scrapped in 1955, car 1238 II ran until 1966.

Car 4362 came to the Woltersdorf tram in early 1956 and was initially given car number 6 II , later number 10 II . The remaining railcars were retired by 1961. The six remaining sidecars were included in the Rekop program in 1965 and converted to type BE 64 sidecars . They initially operated with the numbers 2067 II to 2072 II , from 1970 with the numbers 267 246 to 267 251.

The Woltersdorf railcar was used in passenger traffic until 1970 and then retired. In 1979 he returned to Berlin, where he is currently being looked after by the Berlin Heritage Association . The car should be refurbished and returned to its original condition.
