Babi Floyd

Babi Floyd (also Babbi Floyd , actually Bobby Floyd , born December 16, 1953 , † June 11, 2013 ) was an American singer .

Babi Floyd grew up in the Chicago area and earned a bachelor's degree in English from Carleton College in 1976 before moving to New York, where he worked as a studio musician. In the course of his career he has worked as a background singer on recordings of Patti Austin ( Live at the Bottom Line , CTI 1978) and other productions by CTI Records , as well as Billy Joels 52nd Street , Nina Simones Baltimore , Esther Phillips ' Capricorn Princess and Autophysiopsychic ( 1977) by Yusef Lateef / Art Farmer and his friend Will Lee . Floyd has also been featured on recordings with Michael Franks , George Benson , David Matthews , Ralph MacDonald , Irene Cara , Tom Browne , Bob James ( Sign of the Times 1981), Lonnie Liston Smith (1984) and Keith Richard ( Main Offender , 1992 and Vingage Winos , 2010). In the field of jazz and fusion music , he was involved in 13 recording sessions between 1977 and 1984. In 1982 he recorded the single Bee Bop Doo Bee Beep Bop Bop under his own name .
