89 1 The assassin No compromises Jan. 21, 1998 Nov 7, 1998 Janet Greek J. Michael Straczynski 502
After Ivanova leaves the station, Captain Elizabeth Lochley is requested by Sheridan as the new captain of Babylon 5. Shortly after their arrival, they are contacted by the telepath Byron, who is on the run from the Psi-Corps with several other traumatized telepaths. He asks her to be allowed to found a colony for his own kind on Babylon 5, but Lochley refuses.

Sheridan is about to be inaugurated as President of the Interstellar Alliance when he receives a death threat in the form of a message and a dead ranger who was dropped off in front of the station. The assassin is already on the station. He kills the ambassador of the Gaim people and puts on his protective suit to camouflage himself. He is watched by Simon, a telepath from Byron's group. He realizes that the assassin wants to strike at the inauguration, but is discovered and attacked. Seriously wounded, he drags himself to Sheridan's swearing-in, which is already underway despite security concerns. Shortly before his death, he was able to warn those present, whereupon the attacker initially flees. The ceremony continues. Suddenly the assassin appears with a fighter plane in front of the viewing windows and targets Sheridan. It is an officer named Clemens who served under President Clark. Garibaldi recognized the situation in good time and was able to push Clemens away from the station with another fighter pilot and kill him.

Lochley's powers are over the station's affairs, while Sheridan makes decisions regarding the interstellars. With this reason, he allows the telepaths to stay on Babylon 5, contrary to Lochley's decision. He hopes it will make allies in the impending war with the Psi Corps.

Garibaldi is appointed head of the Interstellar Alliance's intelligence service.

90 2 On the verge of death The Very Long Night of Londo Mollari Jan 28, 1998 Nov 14, 1998 David J. Eagle J. Michael Straczynski 503
Londo has a serious heart attack. An artificial organ is on the way from Centauri Prime, but it will only arrive in three days. At the medlab, he is treated by Franklin, who fears that his patient will not survive the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, Londo dreams: He meets Delenn, Sheridan and others who keep suggesting that he should turn around if he wants to go on living. One word would be enough. G'Kar stands behind him, but Londo is scared and refuses. In the end he faces G'Kar himself. He accuses Londo of not intervening when the home planet of the Narn was attacked (see S2E22) or G'Kar was tortured by Emperor Cartagia (see S4E04). Londo's condition becomes more critical, but eventually he asks for forgiveness. He wakes up to see G'Kar standing by his sick bed and repeats his apology. G'Kar is clearly impressed. Londo will soon recover completely.

Surprisingly for Delenn, Lennier has decided to return to Minbar and train to be a ranger. However, he wants to visit Delenn regularly during the training breaks.

91 3 The voice of the universe The Paragon of Animals Feb. 4, 1998 Nov 21, 1998 Mike Vejar J. Michael Straczynski 504
Sheridan wants the peoples of the Interstellar Alliance to sign a "Declaration of Principles" in which they commit themselves to mutual respect. The Drazi in particular consider this unnecessary and refuse to sign the declaration written by G'Kar. Garibaldi, meanwhile, wants to hire the telepaths on Babylon 5 for his secret service. Since Byron harshly rejects him, he asks Lyta Alexander to try it too. Although Byron is displeased that Alexander is being bossed around by others, he agrees to do her a favor and provides Garibaldi with two of his men.

A seriously wounded ranger arrives at the station and reports shortly before his death about the Enfili people, who are regularly attacked by pirates, the raiders, and who are now asking for help from the Alliance. Sheridan immediately dispatched a fleet of White Star ships. Byron reads the thoughts of the Drazi ambassador unnoticed and as a token of his goodwill he warns Alexander: The Drazi are in league with the Raiders and the White Star ships are falling straight into a trap. When Sheridan finds out, the fleet can bypass the trap and save the Enfili. The Drazi ambassador must publicly confess the Drazi guilt. Motivated by the incident, all other nations sign the declaration.

Maintenance technicians Mack and Bo watch Babylon 5 be attacked by an alien fleet. On their way through the station, the two get into a firefight when the station is boarded and meet Byron and the other telepaths who can telepathically keep the attackers away. In a shelter, Mack and Bo follow a conversation between Londo and G'Kar, whose relationship is getting better and better. The technicians are called to a mission due to various damage and meet Sheridan and Delenn on the way there. Sheridan instructs the two of them to escort Delenn to an escape pod. However, she insists on staying on Babylon 5 and persuades Bo and Mack to let her go. Eventually a fleet of White Star ships arrives and repulses the attackers. During a repair job on the bridge, Mack praised Captain Lochley, who successfully defended the station until the reinforcements arrived, for her work. Then both go back to their usual work.
93 5 Lesson of horror Learning curve Feb 18, 1998 Dec 5, 1998 David J. Eagle J. Michael Straczynski 506
Tannier and Rastenn are two young Minbari who are in training to become rangers. Together with their masters Turval and Durhan, they travel to Babylon 5 to meet Delenn there. You talk about the innovation that members of all races can now take part in training to become rangers; not just humans and Minbari as before. Meanwhile, the gang boss Trace is working to control the underworld of Babylon 5. In security chief Zack Allen he sees a threat that he wants to get out of the way. He pays a woman to lure Allen into a trap as an alleged witness to a crime. When she learns that Allen is to be killed in the process, she hesitates. Trace then wants to kill her too, but Tannier and Rasten hear her calls for help. Tannier can save the woman, but is brutally beaten. With Sheridan's permission, the Minbari settle the case themselves: To overcome his horror, Tannier Trace faces a duel and defeats him. Trace is then arrested.

Garibaldi gets into an argument with Lochley. He accuses her of having sided with President Clark in the war, which she does not deny. However, she stresses that she has never received illegal orders. To find out more about her, Garibaldi gets access to her personnel file.

94 6th The Lord of the Bloodhounds Strange Relations Feb 25, 1998 Dec 12, 1998 John C. Flinn III J. Michael Straczynski 507
Best comes to the ward. He has come with several people from the Psi Corps to arrest the renegade telepaths hiding on Babylon 5. When Garibaldi learns of his arrival, he seeks out Bester and wants to kill him for his deeds (see S4E17). Lochley intervenes and arrests Garibaldi. Meanwhile, Bester is looking for the telepaths and meets Alexander. Because of her extraordinary abilities, she can fend off him and his companions. With the reinforcement of the station's security guards, however, Bester can gradually track down and arrest the telepaths. Lochley visits Garibaldi in his cell. She wants to improve the difficult relationship with him because he still distrusts her. She says that she was married to Sheridan for a few months earlier. She declares that there is nothing she can do about the best. However, she finds a way to prevent him from taking the trapped telepaths with him to Earth: Since Byron and his telepaths have been on different planets, they first have to stay in quarantine for 60 days - and thus remain on the station. This leaves some time to find a peaceful solution.

The imminent death of the regent is expected on Centauri-Prime. Londo is therefore ordered back from Babylon 5. Although he knows that he will most likely soon become emperor, he suspects that the future does not bring him good. Due to repair work in the docks, he missed the ship that was supposed to take him away. This explodes shortly before the start - the reason was a bomb that was intended for Londo. Delenn then suggests that G'Kar travel to Centauri-Prime as Londo's bodyguard. As this is a powerful symbol of peace given the former enmity, G'Kar and Londo agree.

95 7th A dying people Secrets of the Soul 4th Mar 1998 Dec 19, 1998 Tony Dow J. Michael Straczynski 508
Franklin recently took on the task of cataloging medical data on all the races in the Interstellar Alliance. With the Hyach he comes across irregularities. Corresponding records of this people go back only 800 years and the ambassador is also not cooperative. He finally found what he was looking for in the records of other peoples: The Hyach once shared their home planet with the Hyach-Doh, who came from a parallel line of development. The Hyach completely eradicated the Hyach-Doh and then covered the traces of this genocide. However, there was a component in the DNA of the Hyach-Doh that the Hyach rely on. Because of this, the Hyach are slowly but surely dying out. The Hyach ambassador first threatens Franklin to keep the knowledge from being published. However, she realizes that her people need help and lets Franklin do it.

More and more telepaths come to the station and join Byron, which not all Babylon 5 residents like. When one of the telepaths is badly injured by thugs, some of his colleagues take revenge by telepathically inflicting pain on the attacker. Byron intervenes in horror because he strictly rejects violence. Zack Allen arrests Byron and the telepaths present. Byron is only briefly in custody, but meanwhile some of his people attack another thug and kill him. There are no witnesses.

Lyta Alexander and Byron get very close and sleep together. Byron learns from Alexander's memories of the Vorlons' homeworld that it was the Vorlons who created the telepaths as a weapon against the shadows (cf. S3E14). Byron is furious that the telepaths could live a normal life without the Vorlons. The rest of the races who used the telepathic abilities in the Shadow War should now take care of the telepaths.

96 8th The day of the dead Day of the Dead 11th Mar 1998 Jan. 2, 1999 Doug Lefler Neil Gaiman 511
The "Day of the Dead", a rare festival of the Brakiri, is imminent. In order to be able to carry out the ceremony on Babylon 5, the Brakiri buy a part of the station for the duration of the celebrations. Strange things happen at night: The area bought by the Brakiri is wrapped in a kind of force field and is no longer accessible from the outside. Those who spend the night within the sector receive visits from old friends. His late lover Adira (cf. S3E15) appears in Londo's quarters, with whom he can spend one last night. Lennier, who came from Minbar especially for the Day of the Dead, is visited by Murden. Both hardly exchange a word. Shortly before his disappearance, however, the visitor predicts that Lennier will one day betray the Rangers. Garibaldi is given the opportunity to spend the night talking to his casual acquaintance Elizabeth Durman (see S2E10). Lochley has a conversation with her childhood friend Zoe, who once died of a drug overdose. She reveals to Lochley that it was suicide. She also has a message from Kosh to Sheridan: "Then, when the long night comes to you, you have to return to the end of the beginning." The next morning everything is back to normal.

Meanwhile, the comedian duo Rebo & Zooty visits the station.

97 9 The telepath colony In the Kingdom of the Blind 18 Mar 1998 Jan. 9, 1999 David J. Eagle J. Michael Straczynski 509
Several ships belonging to races of the Interstellar Alliance are attacked. Since there are no survivors, it remains unclear who is responsible.

Londo and his new bodyguard G'Kar have arrived on Centauri Prime. Lord Jano, a member of the royal court, reports on strange things going on in the palace. The regent is behaving increasingly strangely. Furthermore, information that is usually openly accessible, for example about the military, food and raw materials, is suddenly treated as strictly confidential. Jano is later overpowered by an unknown assailant in his apartment and finally found hanged. A short time later, Londo and G'Kar are attacked by three Centauri. Londo is saved by a mysterious alien who immediately disappears. At a meeting with the regent, this Londo does not want to reveal who his saviors were. Soon, however, he would find out everything.

Meanwhile, a Centauri warship destroys a defenseless freighter somewhere.

Byron attends an Interstellar Alliance council meeting on Babylon 5 and makes his demands. He and his people demand a planet of their own where they can live in peace. When Sheridan objects that this demand cannot be fulfilled, Byron increases the pressure: his people have telepathically scanned all the ambassadors lately and know all their secrets. He threatens to surrender if the demand is not met. Soon afterwards, the first fighting between telepaths and "normal people" breaks out on the ward. Lochley and Zack Allen now ask Sheridan's permission to arrest the telepaths. He agrees, whereupon Byron barricades himself along with Lyta Alexander and the other telepaths.

98 10 The last prisoner A tragedy of telepaths 25th Mar 1998 Jan. 16, 1999 Tony Dow J. Michael Straczynski 510
With the telepaths still entrenched around Byron, Lochley asks Bester for help as a last resort. Before he arrives, she goes personally to the telepath's hiding place to get them to give up. Byron refuses. When Best arrives and tries to get to the telepaths, the part of Byron's people who are still free on the station arm themselves. There is an exchange of fire with the dead. Byron is appalled by the escalation. Finally Bester's reinforcements from the Psi Corps arrive.

On Centauri Prime, Londo wonders that the Centauri’s military spending has increased despite the end of the war when he and G'Kar make an accidental discovery: G'Kar's former assistant Na'Toth, who was believed to be dead, is still trapped in the palace . The order to detain her has been neglected. Only the regent is authorized to revoke this order. In its current state, however, it is of no help; however, Londo and G'Kar manage to use a trick to lead Na'Toth past the guards and free them.

The isolated attacks on the races of the Interstellar Alliance continue. Apparent evidence emerges at the attack sites, which direct suspicion to different peoples. Especially between the Drazi and the Brakiri a serious dispute breaks out in this way, so that Sheridan is forced to threaten the use of the White Star fleet if the peoples attack each other. He demands more time to clarify the truth behind the attacks.

99 11 Don't forget Byron! Phoenix Rising Apr 1, 1998 Jan. 23, 1999 David J. Eagle J. Michael Straczynski 512
Bester and his "bloodhounds" from the Psi-Corps begin the hunt for the renegade telepaths on Babylon 5. Byron offers Sheridan and his men to leave the station if the Psi-Corps withdraws, but Bester does not allow himself to be negotiated . Lyta Alexander learns from Byron that he once worked for Bester in the Psi Corps and acted cruelly on his orders; which caused him to flee the corps. Meanwhile, Garibaldi seeks out Bester and wants to take revenge on him for his manipulation (see S4E17). Although he is determined to shoot the psi cop, he cannot: Bester has a telepathic block anchored in his subconscious that prevents Garibaldi from harming him. He turns to Franklin for help when suddenly Byron's telepaths storm in and take them both prisoner. They demand their own home planet and safe conduct there and threaten to kill their hostages. Sheridan makes it clear that he does not negotiate with terrorists. Garibaldi is saved at the last second by Byron, who has left his hiding place, by killing one of his men. He sets new conditions: the telepaths who have not exercised any violence should be allowed to leave the station unhindered. Lochley and Sheridan agree. Byron, on the other hand, wants the best at all costs and stands in the way of the renegade telepaths with his bloodhounds. A gunfight breaks out in which containers of a flammable chemical are damaged, which spills onto the floor around Byron and his men. He asks Alexander to go and take care of the remaining telepaths. The telepaths, who previously used violence, step closer to Byron, who finally sees no other way out than to ignite the liquid. The remaining telepaths leave Babylon 5 with Sheridan's permission, while Alexander telepathically advises them of possible places of refuge.

Overwhelmed by the events, Garibaldi succumbs to alcohol again.

100 12 The book of G'Kar The Ragged Edge Apr 8, 1998 Jan. 30, 1999 John Copeland J. Michael Straczynski 513
Mysterious attacks are still causing problems for the interstellar alliance. Sheridan is being put under pressure by the ambassadors of the member races to clarify the matter. In one of the recent attacks on a transport escorted by Drazi ships, one of the pilots escaped and went into hiding. Since they were smugglers, the Drazi government is of no help in finding the survivor. Garibaldi makes his way to the Drazi homeworld. He has an acquaintance there, with whose help he will locate the pilot and then hand it over to the Alliance's council for a statement. The plan fails, also because Garibaldi gets drunk and does not notice how his contact is murdered. When Garibaldi finds the pilot, he is being killed by three cloaked figures. Chased by a Drazi patrol, he can call 911 and return to Babylon 5. There he reports to Sheridan that one of the cloaked figures has lost a button that belongs to the uniform of a Centauri palace guard. Sheridan, Delenn, G'Kar and Garibaldi suspect that the Centauri were behind the attacks, but suspect that Londo does not know about any of this.

To his surprise, G'Kar is greeted with joy at the station by several Narn who worship him like a saint. Ta'Lon (cf. S3E03) explains to G'Kar that he brought his philosophical book (cf. S3E08) to Narn in order to bring it to safety in the event of G'Kar's execution on Centauri-Prime. There it has since been copied hundreds of thousands of times. G'Kar is uncomfortable with this as he does not want to be a leader. Ta'Lon convinces him, however, that he can play an important role as a role model and teacher.

Franklin receives the offer to become head of the xenobiological institute of the earth. He accepts and announces that he will be leaving the station soon.

101 13 The Corps of the Merciless The Corps is Mother, The Corps is Father Apr 15, 1998 Feb 6, 1999 Stephen Furst J. Michael Straczynski 514
Bester is supposed to solve a murder case in the Psi-Corps. One of his former students was killed by his roommate, Jonathan Harris. Since the perpetrator then fled to Babylon 5, Bester goes there accompanied by the two psi police officers Lauren Ashley and Chen Hikaru, who are in training. Harris was trained to kill with his mind, which makes him extremely dangerous. To get money, he visits the station's casinos. He can enrich himself quickly through his telepathic skills. A teammate who feels cheated confronts Harris and is killed by him. A stranger observes the events with interest. When Best locates Harris' quarters, a dead player whose identity Harris has assumed is also found there. While Hikaru continues to search for Harris, he is stabbed to death by the stranger who was watching Harris. It is a criminal who uses Harris' abilities to get money and protect him for it. Bester and Ashley review older records and discover that Harris has multiple personalities. The personality who committed the murders is much stronger than Harris was originally rated by the Psi-Corps. Eventually he and his accomplice are arrested. Both are taken by Bester. On the flight to earth, Ashley pushes the accomplice into space. It is "her first normal" and best thinks that she can become a good psi cop.
102 14th The truth is a river Meditations on the Abyss May 27, 1998 Feb 13, 1999 Mike Vejar J. Michael Straczynski 515
Lennier is still in his ranger training. Delenn has him transferred to a White Star ship, from where he secretly collects solid evidence that the Centauri are behind the attacks on the Alliance. The Drazi also suspect the Centauri and are increasingly losing patience. Sheridan and Delenn know they need to provide the evidence quickly. Londo discovers a bug that a Drazi tried to smuggle into his quarters. Vir settles the matter by aggressively threatening the Drazi. Londo is amused to discover that Vir is now ready to become the Centauri ambassador on Babylon 5 when Londo finally goes to Centauri Prime.

Lennier meets the recruit Findell on the White Star ship, with whom he is soon given the task of exploring the area around the ship. Unexpected for both, the ship under Captain Montoya jumps into hyperspace and leaves the students behind. While Lennier meditates to save oxygen, Findell panics. Montoya finally reappears and praises Lennier for doing just the right thing. Lennier learns that Findell joined the Rangers because he felt obliged to take the place of two family members who died in the Rangers' service. In the next training mission, several recruits will destroy tracking devices on asteroids. Plagued by self-doubt, Findell fails all along the line and finally wants to commit suicide, which Lennier can prevent. Montoya then has Findell transferred: on Minbar, he should help with the selection of new recruits. He is ideally suited to find out whether the volunteers are reporting for the right reasons.

103 15th On the edge of the abyss Darkness Ascending June 3, 1998 Feb. 20, 1999 Janet Greek J. Michael Straczynski 516
Lennier continues to investigate the background to the attacks on the Alliance. Sheridan happens to find out about this mission, which Delenn has kept from him. Lennier is tracking down encrypted Centauri signals when Sheridan calls back the White Star ship Lennier is on. As feared by Delenn, Sheridan wants to avoid Lennier's life in danger and thus protect her from loss. Lennier, on the other hand, leaves the ship in a fighter plane and follows the signals on his own. On the way he meets a Centauri ship, to which he docks unnoticed. Finally, he can record how the ship and others destroy a helpless convoy. Back on Babylon 5, he gives Sheridan the evidence, which is due to be released shortly.

Londo notes that the rest of the races are increasingly avoiding the Centauri. He receives news from the palace of his homeworld that a Narn plot is suspected behind the attacks. It is believed that the Narn want to use falsification of evidence to cast suspicion on the Centauri and start a new war. Londo is assigned to fend off these attempts.

Lyta Alexander turns to G'Kar for help. Since the Narn have no telepaths, she offers G'Kar access to the DNA of several telepaths. In return, she demands a lot of money and transport ships for telepaths who have reneged from the Psi Corps. G'Kar accepts.

Garibaldi receives a visit from his girlfriend Lise, who is shocked to discover that he has fallen back into alcohol.

104 16 The blockade And All My Dreams, Torn Asunder June 10, 1998 Feb. 27, 1999 Goran Gajic J. Michael Straczynski 517
In a council meeting, Sheridan and Delenn present to the rest of the races the evidence of the Centauri responsible for the recent aggression against the Alliance. Various witnesses are interviewed, including Franklin, who can prove that the victims were killed with Centauri weapons. Londo is furious, does not acknowledge the receipts and claims that these were merely foisted on the Centauri. When Lennier presents his recording of an attack by Centauri cruisers on a convoy, Londo first wants to consult with his government. Sheridan imposes a blockade on the Centauri, which are now isolated from the Alliance. He demands an admission of guilt and reparations. On behalf of his government, Londo declares the Centauri to withdraw from the Interstellar Alliance immediately and denies any guilt. He returns to Centauri Prime; accompanied by G'Kar, who is convinced of Londo's innocence.

Garibaldi receives an important assignment from Sheridan: In order to forestall an impending attack by the Centauri, Sheridan wants to use his White Star ships as a deterrent so that there is no open war. However, he does not know where to position the ships. Since the Rangers are watching the Centauri, they should contact Garibaldi as soon as they know where the Centauri will strike next. He should then forward the message to Sheridan. When the time comes and Garibaldi receives a call from the Rangers, however, he is drunk again and cannot be approached. This ultimately leads to an attack on an Alliance fleet and an escalation of the conflict. The peoples affected make Sheridan serious because they did not receive the promised help.

On Centauri Prime they want to arrest G'Kar as a member of the Alliance. Londo struggles, which leads to both of them being arrested.

105 17th The last command Movements of Fire and Shadow June 17, 1998 6th Mar 1999 John C. Flinn III J. Michael Straczynski 518
The Interstellar Alliance is at war with the Centauri. Babylon 5 is also attacked, which Lochley can fend off. Sheridan sends Delenn to Minbar to organize more battleships. Vir Cotto turns to Franklin and Alexander with a request. It seems suspicious to him that the Drazi refuse to hand over killed Centauri pilots, as is actually the norm. The two are supposed to get to the bottom of the Drazi homeworld. With the help of an informant, they uncover the truth there: The Centauri ships are unmanned and are controlled using devices based on shadow technology. The Drazi keep this knowledge secret in order to sow discord in the Alliance. Together with other races, they have already organized an attack on Centauri Prime that is due to begin shortly. Londo and G'Kar are still in custody there. Londo is stunned by mysterious aliens and kidnapped from his cell unnoticed by G'Kar. In a sort of laboratory, one of the kidnappers is satisfied that Londo should serve its purpose. This comes to again in the cell. He is released by a trick and turns to the regent. It makes it clear that he receives his orders from others. Londo would soon find out from whom. Besides, Londo would be Emperor the very next day. The regent has now obeyed his last order: he has shut down the entire defense network of Centauri-Prime. The planet is thus defenseless against the approaching fleet.

On the way to Minbar, Delenn and Lennier's White Star ship is badly damaged in an encounter with Centauri ships.

106 18th The Emperor's Burden The Fall of Centauri Prime Oct 28, 1998 13 Mar 1999 Douglas E. Wise J. Michael Straczynski 519
Centauri-Prime is being devastated from orbit by members of the Alliance. Londo rescues G'Kar from his cell and goes to the regent. There he also meets one of the mysterious aliens. He belongs to the Drakh people (see S4E11) who chose Centauri-Prime as their new home after Z'ha'dum was destroyed. Londo realizes that the Drakh are the allies of the shadows with whom Murder once threatened (see S4E06). They have now achieved their goal of breaking the Centauri in order to manipulate them at will and force Londo to obey them. The guard, who was on the regent's shoulder to control him, breaks away from his host, whereupon the regent dies. Londo goes to G'Kar and tells him to leave Centauri Prime. G'Kar takes the opportunity to personally forgive Londo for his past mistakes. Finally, Londo himself receives a guard from the Drakh, who immediately attaches himself to him and remains invisible. Meanwhile, Sheridan has arrived with a fleet at Centauri-Prime and calls on the attackers to cease fire. Londo turns to Sheridan: The regent started the war without authorization. He withdraws his ships and demands an end to the fighting; whatever happens. Shortly afterwards, he meets with Sheridan in person. He refuses any help with the reconstruction and declares the Centauri to leave the alliance. Sheridan demands reparations and wants Londo's help in finding Delenn, who has been missing for some time. Londo can help: Delenn and Lennier are still waiting in the badly damaged White Star ship when suddenly Centauri ships approach. Unaware of the current developments, the two expect their deaths and Lennier confesses his love to Delenn. At that moment they realize that the ships have come to their rescue. Londo gives his first address to the people as the new emperor. He blames Allianz for the war and condemns the high reparation payments. The Drakh are satisfied with him. He later appoints Vir as the new Centauri ambassador to Babylon 5.
107 19th Eyes of fire The Wheel of Fire Nov 4, 1998 20 Mar 1999 Janet Greek J. Michael Straczynski 520
Back on Babylon 5, G'Kar is received by dozens of cheering supporters. The veneration is clearly uncomfortable for him. As more and more pilgrims arrive at the station, he wants to escape the personality cult.

When Garibaldi shows up at a meeting drunk, Sheridan confronts him. He blames himself for not noticing Garibaldi's problem in time and suspends Garibaldi from his post as chief of intelligence until he has his problem under control. Garibaldi receives another visit from his girlfriend Lise, who supports him in dealing with his addiction. She also asks him to come to Mars in order to run the company of her late husband with her.

Attacks on the Psi-Corps are increasing on earth. The cash payments for these actions could be traced back to Lyta Alexander as far back as Babylon 5. Lochley instructs Zack Allan to arrest Alexander. She resists but can be overwhelmed. In her cell she is visited by Garibaldi, who makes her an offer: He wants to use the influence of Lise's group to have the charges against Alexander dropped. In return he demands that Lyta remove the blockage from Garibaldi's mind that prevents him from harming Bester (see S5E11). Alexander agrees, but also demands help with their money transfers for the resistance. She then wants to clear the blockage after a probationary period. However, she cannot stay on the station because Lochley does not allow this. G'Kar therefore makes the decision to leave the station together with Alexander and travel the galaxy to learn and to keep a distance from the events.

After Delenn passed out, Franklin, to Sheridan's surprise, discovered that Delenn was pregnant.

Theresa Halloran, former "number one" of the resistance on Mars (see S4E10) comes to the station. She visits Garibaldi and warns that an assassination attempt is planned on him and Lise. Illegal projects have been carried out in the company of Lise's late husband, Edgars Industries. Now that Lise and Garibaldi are in charge, some members of the company are afraid to be exposed and want to get them out of the way. G'Kar, who is about to leave with Lyta Alexander, and Garibaldi are to receive a farewell party. Zack Allen suspects that the assassin will strike there. In fact, a man mingles with the guests who has previously stolen the communicator from a security guard in order to eavesdrop on the security service's radio. Allan sends a high-pitched tone to the communicator. The assassin writhes in pain and can be arrested. Then something unexpected happens: a Narn who fanatically reveres G'Kar, but was recently harshly rejected by him, now wants to kill G'Kar. His shot hits Lise, who is badly wounded. From the first assassin, Garibaldi learns that the entire board of Edgars Industries was involved in the incident. Lise is recovering. Garibaldi is overjoyed and still marries her in the Medlab. G'Kar leaves the station with Lyta. Garibaldi contacts the board of directors of Edgars Industries. He introduces the new head of the Interstellar Alliance's secret service: Theresa Halloran. It threatens to publish its knowledge of the illegal activities of the board members if they do not resign immediately. In the event that something happens to him or Lise, Garibaldi deposits a large sum of money, which is then to be used to eliminate the board members. Finally he leaves Babylon 5 for Mars with Lise.
109 21st The last look back Objects at rest Nov 18, 1998 Apr 3, 1999 John Copeland J. Michael Straczynski 522
When Ta'Lon comes back to the station, he finds a message that G'Kar left for him: Ta'Lon is to become the new ambassador of the Narn to Babylon 5. Franklin also arranges his succession. Since he will soon be head of the xenobiological institute on earth, the young doctor Lillian Hobbs is to become the new head of the medlab. Garibaldi takes over the management of Edgars Industries together with Lise and appoints a new board of directors.

Sheridan and Delenn are also in a spirit of optimism. The new headquarters of the interstellar alliance has been completed on Minbar and is now to become their home. After an emotional farewell, they set off - together with Lennier, who came from Minbar to accompany Delenn. On the way, Sheridan is walking through the ship when he suddenly comes across a leak from which poisonous gas is leaking. An automatic security door locks and Sheridan threatens to suffocate. Lennier rushes over - but hesitates to open the door and runs away. Seconds later, he changes his mind and turns back. But Sheridan has already freed himself and is only slightly injured. Lennier flees the ship in a fighter plane and blocks all radio traffic. Delenn arranges for Lennier's quarters on Minbar to be searched. In diaries one discovers the reason for his behavior: Through his love for Delenn he developed an extreme jealousy; he considers the relationship between her and Sheridan to be a mistake. He contacts Delenn and says he will not return until he can forgive himself.

Arrived at the Minbar, Delenn and Sheridan are visited by Londo. He gives the two of them an ancient vessel from the Centauri palace as a present for their unborn son. You should give it to him when he's older. When Londo leaves, a Drakh is waiting for him. They are satisfied with Londo and announce that they are now waiting for the years to pass. In that vessel is one of their guardians (see S5E18).

20 years after the founding of the interstellar alliance, Sheridan feels that the life energy that he once received from Lorien has almost been used up (see S4E04). He and Delenn invite their friends over to celebrate with them one last time. David, the son of the two, is currently in training to become a ranger and does not attend the meeting. Ivanova is now a general on Earth. Vir has been Emperor of the Centauri since Londo's death. Garibaldi is a successful entrepreneur on Mars and Franklin is the head of the xenobiological institute on Earth. While eating together, they toast old friends who can't be there: Londo, G'kar, Marcus Cole and Lennier. Delenn, who has now been named President of the Interstellar Alliance, asks Ivanova to take Sheridan's place as leader of the Rangers after Sheridan's death. The next morning, Sheridan says goodbye to Delenn one last time. His first target is Babylon 5. He finds the station almost completely deserted and learns that it has become superfluous and too expensive and will therefore soon be blown up. Shortly afterwards he meets Zack Allan, who wants to stay on the station until the end. After a short conversation, Sheridan sets off on his last voyage: in a White Star ship, he sets course for the Coriana system, in which the final battle against shadows and Vorlons took place (see S4E06). Once there, his strength dwindles rapidly when suddenly Lorien appears. He explains to Sheridan that he has been waiting for him and that his journey is now over. The whole ship is bathed in bright light. Sheridan disappears and is never seen again.

Ivanova, Vir, Zack Allan, Garibaldi, Franklin and Delenn accompany the decommissioning of Babylon 5. They witness the demolition of the station. Then everyone goes back to their work. Zack Allan goes to Centauri Prime to assist Vir and Ivanova becomes leader of the Rangers.
