Babylon 5: The River of Souls (Original title: Babylon 5: The River of Souls ) is an American science fiction film from 1999 . It is the third of five films in the Babylon television series . The film was released in Germany on November 4, 1999 on VHS .

action

In mid-2263, over half a year after the Season 5 plot, Michael Garibaldi pays a visit to Babylon 5 , where he wants to meet the archaeologist Robert Bryson , paid by Edgars Industries . He brings his latest "find" - a vessel with a billion souls of an extinct race that he stole from one of the soul hunters' whisper galleries - to the station. Meanwhile, Captain Elizabeth Lochley and Zack Allan have problems with the operator of an illegal holo brothel on one of the lower levels of the station. After a few days, a soul hunter arrives to retrieve the soul vessel. It turns out that 10,000 years earlier the souls had left their bodies not through death but through attaining transcendence and had been "preserved" in the vessel against their will. With the help of Robert Bryson, they manage to leave their "prison", take shape through the holoprojectors in the brothel and spread chaos on the ward. An armada of soul hunter ships that has meanwhile arrived threatens to attack the station, while the souls - driven by a thirst for revenge - have nothing else in mind than the destruction of the soul hunter ships.

useful information

This television film takes up the theme of the soul hunters again as the focus of the plot, which appears for the first time in the episode "The Soul Hunter" of the first season of the television series. In addition to this episode, they only play a very minor role in the course of the series.
