Babylon 5: The Gateway to the 3rd Dimension is an American science fiction film from 1998 . It is the second of four films in the Babylon television series . The film was released in Germany on November 4, 1999 on VHS .

action

Mid-2261: During a routine mission, a huge structure is discovered in hyperspace that has apparently been floating there for several thousand years. Driven by curiosity, it is dragged back into normal space at Babylon 5 , where one begins to examine the artifact more closely with the help of interplanetary expeditions . However, when it begins to telepathically influence the residents of the station, the situation gets out of hand. A connected generator block reactivates the ancient relic and opens a portal into the so-called third room, in which an unknown armada is already waiting to pass through in order to extinguish all life.

useful information

“The Gate to the Third Dimension” has a somewhat unusual title in the German version, as “Thirdspace” was translated as “Third Space” in the film itself and the title thus contradicts itself a little.

The exact timing of this film's action is more or less controversial among fans. For example, the opinion is circulating that the only possible position is exactly between two scenes of an episode.

Bruce Boxleitner and Clyde Kusatsu played two of the leading roles in the TV series Frank Buck - Adventure in Malaysia fifteen years earlier . Boxleitner played the eponymous hero Frank Buck and Kusatsu played his friend and assistant Ali.
