Stuart Pankin

Stuart Pankin (born April 8, 1946 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American actor and voice actor .

Life

Pankin first attended the private Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania . He then studied theater studies at Columbia University and graduated in 1971 with a Master of Fine Arts . He played theater while still a student and made his off-Broadway debut in 1968. After completing his studies, he initially continued to play theater, including at the New York Shakespeare Festival in Cymbeline , Timon of Athens and Richard III. on. He made his Broadway debut in 1972 in Maria Stuart .

His film and television career began in the mid-1970s. After a few minor roles, he received in 1977 a series of starring roles in the short-lived, of Aaron Spelling -produced sitcom California Okay . In 1981 he starred alongside Chuck Norris , Christopher Lee and Richard Roundtree in the action film The Giant . He had a bigger role in a blockbuster in 1987 when he played the role of Jimmy alongside Michael Douglas and Glenn Close . In the early to mid-1990s, he was seen in supporting roles in some Hollywood productions such as Arachnophobia , Life Stinks , Congo and Striptease . In the final season of the series Falcon Crest , he had the recurring guest role of Jace Sampson . He had a small supporting role in 2011 in the silent film The Artist, which won five Academy Awards .

In addition, since the 1970s, Pankin has appeared regularly as a guest star on television series as diverse as Boomer, The Stray , Golden Girls , Walker, Texas Ranger , Boston Legal and Desperate Housewives . As a voice actor he was heard between 1991 and 1994 in the original US version of Jim Henson's The Dinos as the family man Earl Sinclair . He also spoke for various cartoon series such as Batman , Superman , Aladdin and Lilo & Stitch . He is also known to US television audiences as anchorman Bob Charles on the HBO news satire Not Necessarily the News and through his numerous appearances as a prominent guest on game shows such as the original US version of The Pyramid .

Pankin has been married since 1974 and the marriage resulted in a son.
