The Bachelard is a mountain river in France that runs in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region . It rises in the French Maritime Alps on the eastern flank of the mountain summit Le Trou de l'Aigle (2961 m) in the municipality of Uvernet-Fours in the Mercantour National Park , initially drains in a northerly direction, then turns to the west, later again to the north in the lower reaches after 27 kilometers on the municipal boundary of Uvernet-Fours and Barcelonnette as a left tributary into the Ubaye .

tourism

The Ubayette is an extreme white water kayak river. Winter sports are practiced in the mountains of the upper reaches.
