Bad For You Baby is the last studio album recorded by Gary Moore from 2008, who suddenly passed away in 2011. Like the previous albums, the album includes pieces in Moore's well-known and proven mixture of powerful and punchy blues - rock and hard-rock styles and his own soulful ballads, with some tracks from other blues greats being new to his own, very rocking and unmistakable way of interpreting, while most of the pieces come from his own pen.
The fast numbers of the album rely on strongly emphasized boogie and shuffle rhythms with loud guitar riffs. Did You Ever Feel Lonely? on the other hand is a more soulful slow blues. The ballad I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know, written by Al Kooper and also covered by Amy Winehouse, with its impressive accordion, uses soulful vocals and a correspondingly expressively played guitar. In the long guitar solo, Moore once again demonstrates his intelligently used bending technique with its mixture of drawn half-tones and whole tones, which lead to strange and surprising tone sequences. This way of playing can also be heard in the blues-like ballad Trouble Ain't Far Behind . Moore delivers another new ballad with Holding On . On Mojo Boogie , Moore uses a slide guitar in the style of Elmore James, which he rarely uses .
