A Different Beat is the 13th studio album by Irish blues rock and hard rock guitarist and singer Gary Moore from 1999. 'A Different Beat' tries, like the previous album ' Dark Days in Paradise ', new, to combine modern styles, which are clearly oriented towards dance and techno beats, with Moore's guitar-oriented blues and hard rock singing and playing style using electronic sounds. This is particularly evident in the 12-minute version 'EZ Rollers Remix' of the track 'Can't Help Myself' and in the ballad-like song 'Surrender'. With 'Fire' by Jimi Hendrix , however, it also contains a cover version that is clearly oriented towards Moore's hard rock phase. All pieces with the exception of 'Fire' were written by Gary Moore and largely recorded by himself.
