Blues For Greeny is the eleventh studio album by Irish blues rock and hard rock guitarist Gary Moore from 1995. It is a cover album in honor of Peter Green , founder of the band Fleetwood Mac and early promoter of Moore. Almost all of the tracks come from earlier releases by the old "Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac" band, with the exception of the instrumental "Supernatural" and "The Same Way", which Peter Green already recorded with John Mayall 's Bluesbreakers .
Moore recorded the songs on the famous 1959 Gibson Les Paul , which he acquired from Peter Green in the early 1970s after the latter parted ways with Fleetwood Mac and withdrew from the music scene.
The album had success in England and Finland (# 14), Switzerland (# 26), Norway (# 31), Germany (# 33), Sweden (# 40) and Australia (# 59) and included Need Your Love So Bad a smaller single hit (UK number 48).
