Back To The Blues is the 14th studio album by Irish blues rock and hard rock guitarist and singer Gary Moore, released in 2001.

As the title of the album suggests, Gary Moore is making another turn in the direction of blues-oriented songs, having previously presented a mix of rock and dance music with the previous albums. On the album you will find tracks that are considered classics in the blues world and are reinterpreted here by Moore, typically in the hard way as blues rock.

The own compositions that Moore presents on the album can again be considered characteristic of Gary Moore: ballads like Picture of the Moon , Drowning in Tears , guitar-based instrumental numbers like The Prophet or the hard rock piece Cold Black Night . As is often the case with Moore, clearly defined guitar solos are everywhere. In the instrumental ballad The Prophet , Moore fully exploits his characteristic style of a slowly developing piece based on a very melodic and melancholic theme, which then increases more and more into furious passages in modified revivals of the theme.
