action

The young journalist Jitendra Gupta lives a simple life in Kolkata . He works for a leading newspaper and writes an article about the poor condition of the millionaire Seth Gulabchand's mines. He in turn ensures that Jitendra is fired by the editor-in-chief Amita.

A few days later the terrible news arrives: 135 miners are killed when the mines break in. Amita deeply regrets her decision and appoints Jitendra as news editor. Slowly she begins to fall in love with him too. She takes her heart and wants to confess her love to him when she sees him hugging her younger sister Sunita. After all, she didn't know that Jitendra had met the beautiful Sunita a few days ago and fell in love with her.

Amita gives up her love for her sister's sake. She also rejects Vikram Varma's marriage proposal, who wanted to ask for Sunita's hand.

Misunderstandings ensue and the two sisters sacrifice their love for each other. In addition to the private problems, Amita also has to struggle with the difficulties of the newspaper and her health suffers. Ultimately, she has a nervous breakdown and dies of heart failure in the arms of Jitendra and her sister Sunita.

background

Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi is considered the last film production by Guru Dutt . The drama is one of two unfinished projects that Guru Dutt left behind when he died in 1964 - the other was a project originally overseen by Karimuddin Asif , which eventually appeared as Love and God in 1986 . The film was finished in 1966 by Dutt's brother Atma Ram . Dharmendra took on the role previously filmed with Guru Dutt.
