List of train stations in Italy |
The Neumarkt-Tramin train station ( Stazione di Egna-Termeno in Italian ) is located on the Brenner Railway in southern South Tyrol .
location
The Neumarkt-Tramin train station is located at an altitude of 217 m in the valley floor of the Unterland . Administratively, it is located in the municipality of Tramin , but it is much closer to the center of Neumarkt , with which it is connected by bridges spanning the Brenner motorway and the Adige . The station area is directly connected to a commercial area.
history
Neumarkt-Tramin station is one of the stations that went into operation at the same time as the Brenner Railway from Verona through the Adige Valley to Bolzano was opened in 1859. From the beginning it was very important for the local economy, as agricultural products from the lowlands and wood from the Fiemme Valley were loaded here.
In 1965 the reception building was supplemented by a porch. In 2001 there was a comprehensive renovation, the erection of canopies on the tracks and P + R stops.
Buildings
Stylistically, the reception building designed by Ernst Hranatsch is based on the Italian villa style. The two-storey, symmetrically structured building has a flat hipped roof , a finely profiled plastered facade and a rustic structure on the ground floor . What is unusual for the stations that are otherwise built along the Brennerbahn is the massive masonry storage building built in addition to the usual wooden (and demolished in 2001) warehouse.
function
Neumarkt-Tramin station is served by regional trains from Trenitalia and SAD , which also operate bus connections to the station.
