August Hartmann (organ builder)

August Hartmann (born February 2, 1931 in Oberdeggenbach ( Lower Bavaria ), † April 24, 2011 in Regensburg ) was a German organ builder .

Life

August Hartmann was born on February 2nd in Oberdeggenbach near Schierling in Lower Bavaria . From 1946 he completed an organ builder training with Eduard Hirnschrodt . After passing the journeyman's examination, Hartmann worked as an organ builder at the Hirnschrodt company, and later as a manager in the company's carpentry and assembly department. After the company was taken over by the organ builder Georg Jann , he initially continued to work in this company. After the Jann company moved to Allkofen in Lower Bavaria, he and a few other employees left the Jann company and  continued to work actively with the aforementioned employees in the previous company building, which was located in Regensburg - Stadtamhof at Protzenweiher 13. From then on, the company served as a branch for the Guido Nenninger company and later for Hermann Kloss . In 1982 August Hartmann went into business for himself and built organs with sliding drawers , with purely mechanical or combined action in his property, which was located at Ardennenstraße 26 in Regensburg. August Hartmann died on April 24, 2011 in Regensburg.
