Hermann Kloss

Hermann Kloss (born April 6, 1931 in Jägerndorf , Czechoslovakia ; † October 13, 2001 in Riedenburg ) was a German organ builder.

Life

Hermann Kloss was born on April 6, 1931 in Jägerndorf (today Krnov ) in the Sudetenland , as the son of Josef Kloss, a technical director of the Rieger-Kloss organ building company . He went through an organ builder training, which he completed in 1948 with the journeyman's examination. In 1965 he passed the master craftsman examination in Munich. Until his resettlement in 1967 he worked as an employee of the Czech Office for the Preservation of Monuments in Prague. In 1968 he founded an organ building company in Kelheim . Until his death, he built numerous organs with sliding chests and restored instruments, mainly in the Upper Palatinate and Lower Bavaria . He is buried in the forest cemetery in Kelheim.
