The station building dates from 1863. Like the neighboring Kelsterbach train station , it follows the type of construction of the Hessian Ludwig Railway . It is a simple, three-axis eaves - standing building made of red sandstone on a long rectangular floor plan with a gable roof . The one-story extensions are partly modern. Track systems

The platforms of the Raunheim train station

The station has three platform tracks. Track 1 is the house platform. From here the S-Bahn lines S8 and S9 run in the direction of Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof via Mainz Hauptbahnhof (S8) or Mainz-Kastel (S9). Track 2 shares an island platform with track 3 . The S-Bahn runs from platform 2 via Frankfurt (Main) Flughafen Regionalbahnhof , Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof and Offenbach Ost to Hanau Hauptbahnhof . Track 3 only serves as a sideline.

New LCD displays were installed on the platforms, as in the Frankfurt inner city area. The devices in Raunheim were attached to tracks 1 and 2. Between spring 2009 and autumn 2020, the displays are to be supplemented by automatic announcement devices, which can be monitored from a control center in Frankfurt Central Station and, if necessary, supplemented by announcements from employees.

The Raunheim train station is not barrier-free .
