The Salzburg Süd stop is an operating point of the Salzburg-Tiroler-Bahn in the Glasenbach district of the Elsbethen municipality in the province of Salzburg .

history

The station was completed and put into operation in the same year as a replacement for the Hellbrunn-Glasenbach stop, which was closed on May 28, 1978. The old stop was about 150 m south of the current facilities. In 2003, Salzburg Süd could be integrated into the operation of the S3 line of the Salzburg S-Bahn without any problems .

construction

The stop has two tracks and corresponding side platforms . Platform 2 can be reached via a barrier-free underpass with two flat ramps under the tracks. 30 parking spaces are available directly in front of the tracks and the bus stop, while the P + R facility Alpensiedlung / Salzburg-Süd with over 200 parking spaces is about 300 m away on the western side of the Salzach . This is also in the immediate vicinity of a motorway slip road to the Tauern motorway .

traffic

The stop is in particular the traffic stop of the S3 line of the Salzburg S-Bahn . The S-Bahn is every half hour in one direction on weekdays. In addition, regional express trains (REX), Intercity (IC) and Eurocity trains (EC), such as the EC 217 from Saarbrücken to Graz , stop around every hour .

The regional bus route 165 and the trolleybus routes 3, 7 and 8, which connect Salzburg-Süd with Salzburg's old town and the Salzburg main train station , stop here .
