The station Stadtroda (formerly Roda ) - today is that there is a breakpoint - located on the Weimar-Gera railway (also called "wooden runway" or Mid-Germany Railway called). From the 2018/2019 timetable year, the long-distance stop will be served by a total of 6 trips (3 in each direction, every 6 hours) by intercity trains on the Cologne Hbf - Düsseldorf Hbf - Gera Hbf route.
location
Stadtroda train station runs north of the city near an industrial park, where it borders on the street “Am Bahnhof”. The city center is more than a kilometer south. The federal highway 4 runs about 500 meters further north. The next station to the west is the Neue Schenke stop, seven kilometers away ; to the east, this is the Papiermühle stop, which is about six kilometers from Stadtroda.
history
Most of the plants were built by 1879. On the northern loading track , wood from the surrounding forests was handled; the wagons could be loaded using a higher ramp and a crane . Extensive freight traffic , which in many cases affected the adjacent timber industry , was carried out until 1990.
In 1944 Stadtroda was run as a third-class train station.
The Stadtroda station had the fewest changes compared to the other operating points of the Weimar-Geraer Bahn until 2005, for example the reception building and the goods shed have been preserved from the early years of the line.
In the winter of 2005/06, all but one track of the station were removed after there was no longer any freight traffic for a long time.
Up to September 28, 2006 two mechanical interlockings were in operation in Stadtroda: "Ro" ( dispatcher interlocking ) and "Rw" (attendant interlocking ).
In 2014, the listed station was privatized and extensively renovated. It was expanded for residential purposes and is rented out to students at the nearby University of Jena for use in a shared apartment .
The platforms are 160 meters long and 55 centimeters high.
