history

The Asti – Castagnole delle Lanze railway was opened on July 12, 1870.

2003 were breakpoints Asti Boana, Molini d'Isola and San Marzanotto shut down.

From the timetable change on June 17, 2012, passenger traffic in the Piedmont region was shut down. The route will formally remain in operation, even if it is no longer passable. Passenger traffic is to be resumed.
